We are now looking for a Electrical Safety Engineer for the Decommissioning Engineering unit at Ringhals.
About Us
The decommissioning of reactor 1 & 2 is now in an intensive period and is receiving increasing focus within Ringhals. There is now an opportunity to influence the development and enable Vattenfall's vision of a fossil-free future. The work we perform within the decommissioning department is not only significant today but also aims to demonstrate the role of nuclear power in the energy community by closing the cycle. Now you have the chance to contribute to this in the role of Electrical Safety Engineer.
The Decommissioning and Waste Management department is responsible for driving, developing, and decommissioning Ringhals's shut-down reactors. Development means ensuring that systems necessary for a safe working environment and decommissioning function, but also adapt as the demolition progresses until it is finally dismantled.
About the Job
As an Electrical Safety Engineer with us, you will play a central role in ensuring electrical safety and electrical design within our organization. You will work on producing documentation and analyses to support our work in decommissioning the electrical installations at R1 and R2. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our electrical systems and installations meet applicable safety standards and regulations.
Your main responsibilities:
- Ensure electrical safety and conduct risk analyses for the electrical installations
- Develop and implement electrical designs to support the decommissioning process
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to collect and analyze data
- Document and report on progress and challenges in electrical safety and electrical design
- Support the team with technical advice and expertise in your area
- Conduct risk analyses and safety assessments of electrical systems
- Develop and implement safety routines and processes
- Perform inspections and tests of electrical installations
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations regarding electrical safety
By succeeding in this role, you will contribute to a safe and efficient decommissioning of our electrical installations, which is an important part of our long-term goal of achieving fossil freedom.
Requirements
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- A master's degree or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a similar field
- Several years of work experience in a similar role and a solid understanding of electrical safety and electrical design
- Training in electrical safety, which is a necessary competence to take responsibility for the electrical installations at R1 and R2 during their continuous change and decommissioning
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and spoken
- Good knowledge of applicable safety standards and regulations
You should have experience in risk analysis and safety assessment, as well as strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. Additionally, good communication and collaboration skills are essential to succeed in this role. Your broad competence in electrical design and electrical safety makes you a valuable asset to our team.
